Note: This following tip will not work on XP Home Edition.
- Make sure you're logged on as actually "Administrator". Do not log on with any account that just has administrator privileges.
- Start > Run > type gpedit.msc.
- Expand the Local Computer Policy branch.
- Expand the Administrative Templates branch.
- Expand the Network branch.
- Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window.
- In right window double click the "limit reservable bandwidth" setting.
- On setting tab check the ENABLED item.
- Where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0 (ZERO).
- Close gpedit.msc.
Method 2:
Note: This method hardly affects your net speed. It might help increasing your net speed to a very little extent.
- Open command prompt(type cmd in run & hit enter).
- Type ipconfig/all.
- Note down your DNS server's address.
- Close the Command Prompt.
- Go to run & type: ping "DNS server's Address(without double quotes)" -t
- example: ping 165.254.3.5 -t
- Don't close this window & now use your net.
- Every time you open your net, just run this pinging window.
